This polymer is the largest consumer of propylene which was first produced through polymerization by Ziegler-Nat method with n(CH2CH(CH3)--) and began to be produced industrially in 1954. Since the beginning of the production of this polymer, it was estimated that the cost of producing polypropylene, or PP, is lower than polyethylene or PE.
